Rachel Powers, MA, IDSA Rachel has extensive experience in user-centered product design, user research, industrial design and interaction design for a variety of products and industries. Rachel is the Founder of Visde, a human-centered product design firm located in Evanston, IL and San Jose, CA. She is the Founder of VisdeLabs , a research and innovation-centered Think Tank. She has worked on a variety of projects creating innovative, engaging user experiences, including Apple Computer, Andersen, Beltone, Disney, Intel, Macromedia, Microsoft, and Yahoo! Rachel’s work has contributed to numerous awards including; Best Product and Editor’s Choice Awards from CHIP Magazine, CNET, and PC Magazine, as well as multiple CODiE Awards. Rachel holds a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MA from Notre Dame de Namur University. She is also an Assistant Professor, Adjunct, at Northwestern University , McCormick School of Engineering and Kellogg School of Management where she teaches graduate-level Innovation and Human-Centered Product Design courses. Rachel is also a Faculty member at DePaul University, The IIT Institute of Design and San Francisco State University where she has taught Computer-Human Interaction and Product Design courses to undergraduate and graduate students. Interaction Design Association and has been a Director-at-Large for the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Innovation Roundtable.
